Your installer must be MCS Accredited

The Installer you instruct to Design and Install your air source heat pump must be MCS accredited and be registered with Ofgem to provide the BUS grant. Ofgem will not work with non-MCS accredited Installers even if they are competent to Install the heat pump.

Is the property a self-build? Has the new build been built for you (the owner) to live, you are currently building it, or has it already been built by yourself or you have paid a builder to build it?

Evidence of the title deeds must be shown.

Although new build properties are very well matched to heat pumps, this does not always qualify the property for the BUS grant.

It must be a self-build and evidence of the title deeds must be shown, to us to help us process the application.

If the property has been built by a developer and then sold on to you, this does not qualify you for the BUS grant.

You do qualify with your new-build!

Should this not be possible in your case due to the legality around self-build, do not give up on your heat pump aspirations, as heat pumps work extremely efficiently in new-build properties and may still be a viable option regardless of the BUS grant.

From 2025 Gas boiler Installations will be banned from new build homes, in a bid to help the UK meet its net zero targets by 2025.

So fitting a heat pump or finding you alternative renewable energy options is still very much the way forward.
